What a wonderfully surreal and imaginative piece! The stream-of-consciousness style creates a dreamlike journey where history, philosophy, literature, and playful word associations intermingle in unexpected ways. I particularly enjoyed the references to Voltaire, Candide, the Lisbon earthquake, and Majorca, which lend the writing an intellectual richness while still maintaining its whimsical, free-flowing character.
